Pablo Sánchez, leader of La Raíz: «The public did not understand that the band stopped at its best»

After more than five years of hiatus, a concert at the WiZink in Madrid on November 22 will open a limited return a little more than a year

The Spanish band La Raíz, known for their mix of folk, reggae, pop, and ska, are planning a comeback after a fiveyear hiatus. The group, originally from Gandia, Valencia, had achieved significant success in Spain before their split. The band’s leader, Pablo Sánchez, has clarified that their return is not due to a promise made at their farewell, but rather to see if their initial spark can be reignited. Their return plan includes rehearsals starting in March and a key concert date on November 22, 2024, which will kick off a small tour. While there will not be a new album, there will be some new songs. The band’s most popular song, «Entre Poetas y Presos«, has over 37 million plays on platforms like Spotify.
