The creators dedicate hours of work to each video in search of originality and an attractive beginning
On Tik Tok, users are trying all sorts of tactics to go viral, from mimed book reviews to pouring ketchup on their hair. However, according to a company spokesperson, there’s no secret formula for success. The frequency, length, or timing of posts doesn’t necessarily impact their virality. Three popular TikTokers shared their experiences and strategies. Nuria Adraos, a 23-year- old professional makeup artist, made her TikTok debut in 2020 and quickly gained thousands of views with her incredible transformations into characters like Aladdin’s Genie, Dumbo, and Jack Sparrow. She spends her days watching animated films and series for inspiration and meticulously crafts each video, which can take between 8 to 12 hours to film and 40 minutes to edit. Patricia Fernández, a 25-year-old journalist with over 420,000 TikTok followers, creates viral content by combining classic culture with modern communication codes. She attributes her success to storytelling and staying true to herself. She spends a lot of time reading and studying to come up with unique and engaging content. Ariane Hoyos, 24, believes that creating attractive hooks at the beginning of her videos is essential for retaining viewers. She scripts most of her content and emphasizes the importance of a strong narrative. Her most popular video features the wood-burning kitchen in her village home, demonstrating that viewers value authenticity. All three creators agree that originality, authenticity, and a strong narrative are key to Tiktok success. They also warn against focusing too much on numbers and trends, as they can lead to frustration and hinder creativity.
