The Mobile World Congress turns 18 years old as the world’s largest technology fair with record-breaking attendance numbers

The Mobile World Congress 2024 showcased intriguing advancements including robots, flying cars, Al developments in mobile telephony, and flexible transparent screens. This year, the focus was more on the technology surrounding telephony rather than the mobiles themselves. As revealed by Mats Granryd, the DirectorGeneral of GSMA, the event was unique due to the significant impact of artificial intelligence (Al) and its integration with 5G and other platforms. Visitors had the opportunity to interact with AMECA, the most advanced robot to date with an OpenAI GPT-4 language model, and converse with Humane’s Al Pin, a wearable device that allows voice and gesture control of a virtual assistant. The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the first flying car. Manufactured in California, USA, the 100% electric vehicle boasts range of 320 kilometers on the road and 170 kilometers in flight and is priced at 300,000 dollars
